Welcome to kinnblog.com - the first lit-blog in the Hebrew language. Operating out of the offices of Kinneret Zmora Dvir Publishing House in Israel, this is not an 'official website' of the company and we offer the Hebrew reader items of literary interest, author news, and plain gossip from all over the world. Roughly half of our content is locally originated: links to local media items, controversy, literary prizes and so on. Our intention is entertain those Hebrew readers interested in the world of books and literature as well as to provide a forum for discussion on anything remotely connected to it. We aim to do this in a light, well-informed and provocative style. The blog will feature daily updates as well as permanent links to friends and websites of interest both here in Israel and abroad.

About the publisher:
In January 2002, two of Israel’s leading trade publishers, Kinneret and Zmora Bitan-Dvir, merged into a single publishing group. We own our own chain of bookstores called Tsomet Sefarim which now numbers over thirty strores all over the country. Today, some thirty months later, Kinneret-Zmora is the leading trade publishing house in Israel and we have unparalelled ability to publish, publicize, distribute and market books in Israel.

The international list includes works by: Philip Roth, Saul Bellow, Somerset Maugham, Peter Carey, Graham Swift, Julian Barnes, Helen Fielding, Antonio Tabucchi, Paul Theroux, E.L. Doctorow, Kurt Vonnegut, Guenter Grass, Bernhard Schlink, Vikram Seth, Hanif Kureishi, Sadie Smith, Michael Ende, Don deLillo, V.S. Naipaul, Elias Canetti, John Updike, Hanif Kureishi and Arundhati Roy.

The new grouping also contains the prestigious Machbarot LaSifrut imprint whose list includes: J.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, A.A. Milne, Oliver Sacks, Chitra Divakaruni, Amy Tan, Haruki Murakami and Richard Feynman.

Since the merger we have added some wonderful international authors to our list including: Henning Mankell, Dave Eggers, Leif Enger, Jonathan Safran Foer, Arthur Golden, Aludena Grandes, Lars Saabye Christensen, Joostein Gaarder, Donna Tartt, Luis Landero and Madonna.
